Day 1:  Kasol – Grahan village  Trek : Sar Pass Trek

Start your adventure with us at 8: 00 am, where we meet bright and early for a refreshing start. After a short briefing and luggage deposit  at 08:15 am , we have  ready to hit the road by 09: 00 am . A quick 10-minute drive from Kasol brings us to the beginning of our trekking trail. As we set foot on the path from Kasol to Grahan Village, we will be greeted by the sights and sounds of nature, including lush green forests, babbling streams, and cascading waterfalls.

While the initial part of the trail is gentle, it soon gives way to rocky and steep terrain after crossing the Grahan Nallah. As we near Grahan Village, the landscape becomes more rugged, offering stunning views of the ancient Rhododendron trees and traditional village houses. Nestled near the village, our campsite provides a serene retreat surrounded by natural beauty. Spend the night under the stars, capturing the essence of Grahan Village with its timeless charm. All meals are provided, ensuring you have a hassle-free and memorable experience.


Day 2: Grahan – Min Thach  2350m – 3400m (6 – 7hrs) ( Approx 7- 8kms)

Today’s trek takes us from Grahan to Min Thach, spanning approximately 7-8 kilometers and lasting 6-7 hours. The trail, commonly used by locals for livestock, offers a rich variety of flora and fauna, including birds and insects. As we ascend, the path gradually steepens and leads into wooded areas. Along the way, we pause for a delightful lunch amidst the forest canopy at Ratapani. As we continue, the dense forest gives way to open grassy patches, revealing breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and valleys below. Before reaching camp, we tackle a steep section, leading to Min Thach, nestled atop a hillock surrounded by flat rocks. Here, we’re treated to magnificent sunsets and sunrises, with the night sky offering a mesmerizing display of stars and the Milky Way. All meals are provided for this leg of the journey.

Day 3: Min Thach to Nagaru Trek

Today, we begin our journey with an early start to reach Nagaru, traversing a distance of 8-9 kilometers over the course of 5-6 hours. The trail presents a steeper challenge compared to previous routes. As we ascend, we traverse pastoral forests transitioning into snow-covered meadows, adding a touch of complexity to the journey. As you gain altitude, the thinner air may lead to symptoms like headaches and dizziness. But fret not, as we’re equipped with essential facilities including a first aid kit, portable oxygen, oximeter, and pulsemeter to ensure your safety.

The chilly winds greet us as we approach the campsite, situated at an elevation of 12,500 feet. Despite the biting cold, the panoramic vistas of the Parvati Valley and the captivating sunset hues gradually paint the sky. Consequently, this creates an unforgettable backdrop for stargazing under the night sky. As the evening progresses, the colors shift beautifully, making the experience even more magical.

Day 4: Nagaru to Bishkeri via Sar Pass

Get ready for another early start as we embark on a long trekking day from Nagaru to Bishkeri, covering a distance of 12-13 kilometers over 7-9 hours. The trail presents snow-covered and steep tracks, especially until we reach the pass. After conquering the Nagaru ridge, the trail becomes more moderate. Along the way, there’s a convenient canteen near the lake. Where you can refuel with snacks like maggi, tea, and coffee. As we ascend towards the pass, be prepared to be mesmerized by the breathtaking views of the Parvati Valley’s stunning meadows and towering peaks. Take your time and maintain a steady pace while climbing, although walking on the snow makes it somewhat easier.

Once we reach the top of Sar Pass, the feeling of accomplishment is unparalleled, with panoramic vistas of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and lush green meadows below. You’ll have the opportunity to savor a packed lunch and capture memorable photos at the pass. After the pass, enjoy a thrilling slide down a great slope, covering a kilometer in just minutes. Then, continue trekking down through gentler slopes adorned with rhododendron trees until we reach Bishkeri Thach. After a challenging yet fulfilling day, unwind amidst the lush green meadows, vibrant wildflowers, and diverse birdlife at Bishkeri, rejuvenating your body and mind with newfound energy. We’ll camp for the night at this tranquil site.

Day 5: Bishkeri to Manikaran via Barshaini

Today’s trek from Bishkeri to Manikaran via Barshaini spans 9-10 kilometers and takes approximately 4-6 hours. The trail offers a mix of downhill and moderate terrain, so it is important to proceed with caution and maintain a steady pace. Descending through dense forests of deodar oak and pine, you will encounter numerous small streams along the way. Enjoy the picturesque surroundings of beautiful meadows, towering trees, and ancient fallen logs, evoking a sense of prehistoric wonder. Keep an eye out for herds of wild cows, bulls, and horses grazing in the lower pastures. Don’t miss the opportunity to savor locally-made lassi and indulge in delicious treats at the charming tea shops along the trail.

After hours of enchanting forest trekking, we will arrive at Pulga village, followed by a leisurely stroll to Tulga village. Crossing the Parvati river, we will ascend for a while to reach Barshaini. From Barshaini, we will board a bus or taxi, reaching Manikaran in approximately an hour. Renowned for its hot springs, Manikaran is a sacred site for both Hindus and Sikhs. It offering a tranquil retreat amidst the Kullu-Manali region. After exploring Manikaran, you can depart for your preferred destination, concluding your memorable trek with Zoyo Trip Holidays.

Trip Exclusion

  • Personal porters for carrying trekker’s backpacks.
  • Personal insurance or the cost of emergency evacuation.
  • Purchases of personal items such as mineral water bottles, bottled or canned beverages, chocolates, dry fruits, etc.
  • Food expenses to/from the trailhead and at the first base camp.

How to Reach

  • By Air: The nearest airport is Bhuntar Airport, located about 31 km from Kasol. From Bhuntar, you can take a taxi or bus to reach Kasol.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station is Joginder Nagar Railway Station, which is about 144 km from Kasol. From there, take a bus or taxi to reach Kasol.
  • By Road: Kasol is well-connected by road. Regular buses and taxis are available from major cities like Delhi, Chandigarh, and Manali. You can also drive to Kasol via NH 21.
